HRC’s approach to empowerment is to (a) identify the individuals and organizations creating a positive change in the community (b) build partnership and action network. The work is focused in three major areas: Community, Women, and Youth.

Community Achievement Award
The annual award program, held for the last 13 consecutive year, recognizes exemplary accomplishments of individuals and organizations in Education, Sports, Social Activism, Arts/Culture/Literature, and Specialization. The award is open to all community residents regardless of their current residency location, nationality, religious affiliation, gender, color, or ethnic origin.

Female Adult Literacy
HRC provides financial support for the ‘Adult Learning Program’ by Women Initiators — a registered non-profit that caters to the needs of women making 50% of over half a million community population.

Women Empowerment Program
This program is launched in partnership with social non-government organization, NIMSO, providing sewing machines to women for self-reliance
HRC was one of the primary supporter of Hazara Youth Conference (HYC) held by Markez-Taleemi Wa Farhangi Ummat (aka Ummat) held in Quetta, Pakistan. The three day conference brought scores of youth to listen to their perspectives and concerns.
HYPO Book Fair
HRC was a primary supporter of “Book Fair” organized by Hazara Youth Perspective Org (HYPO) – an organization based in Quetta and Australia.
Hepatitis Awareness Program for Students in area Schools
To stem the rising tide of Hepatitis cases, HRC worked together with WGO and Surgeon Dr. Narjis Hassan in creating a “Hepatitis awareness” lecture series delivered to students by visiting schools in the community.
Collection of educational statistics of 35,000 students from area schools
In 2005 and 2009, HRC partnered with Wahdat Guardian Organization (WGO) and Mr. Khadim Ali, in collecting educational statistics of approximately 35,000 students from schools in the community. Due to unique nature of the request, HRC and partnering organizations earned the trust of each educational institution by proactively engaging, explaining our vision, and projects at work at the grassroots. The data collected is vital in understanding the educational needs of the community, and in designing programs to leverage the work of educational institutions.
